Government Handing Over Basic Facilities Like Education, Health And Electricity To Private Companies In The Name Of Privatization
Indore - Photo: Amar Ujala, Indore Public sector companies are not meant to make profit. If the government says that the public sector companies are in loss and private companies should be brought in their place, then it will only harm the country. Private companies will sell those services at high prices which are essential for the public. For example, electricity is one area where privatization shows that you want to put the economic burden on the public. Electricity is an essential facility which should be given to the public at minimum rates and private sector companies can never do this. Leftist thinker Ashok Rao said these things in the Abhyas Mandal lecture series. He gave his views on the danger and impact of privatization of public owned companies. Government hospitals and schools were closed and handed over to private sector players
Ashok Rao said that today % people are living life on salary less than ₹25000 and in this country the world's third richest businessman is present. This shows how huge the economic disparity is in the country. Ashok Rao said that education and health are essential facilities in which privatization is completely dominating today. The condition of government schools and government hospitals is not hidden from anyone. Basic health and education facilities are also not available to the people of the country. Answering the questions of the members of the Abhyas Mandal, Ashok Rao said that companies like Post Office, Airport, BSNL are on the verge of ruin. It means that the basic facilities available to the public are ending. Earlier 90 the post which used to go from Mumbai to Delhi in money, today it is ₹ 20 has to be sent by courier. This shows how many losses were caused to the public by privatization.
