Four days of the Afghanistan-New Zealand Test match have been wasted. Due to rain, the fourth day of the only cricket test between Afghanistan and New Zealand was washed out. The toss between the two teams was to take place at 9 am, but due to heavy rain the game had to be cancelled on the fourth day as well. The Afghanistan Cricket Board said in a statement, 'After inspecting the stadium, a decision will be taken about starting the game at 8 am on Friday morning.'
Not a single ball has been bowled in this match in the last four days. The outfield was wet on the first two days, which has also raised questions on the readiness of this ground to host international matches. The match has not been officially cancelled and a decision will be taken only after taking stock tomorrow. However, if it is officially cancelled, then history will be repeated after 26 years. This will be the eighth such Test match in which not a single ball was bowled. New Zealand will be a part of such a Test for the second time.
