On the Bhainsa Ghat hill of Singaurgarh Fort of Singrampur in Jabera tehsil, 45 km from Damoh district headquarters, is the Madhiya of Bhadrakali, the Kuldevi mother of the heroic queen Durgavati. Which was built in the 13th century. Inside which the statue of Mother Bhadrakali is seated on a stone. Once upon a time there used to be five Madhiyas here. In which the idols of Hanumanji along with two Shivlingas were present, but these four Madhiyas were razed to the ground and the remains are scattered.
Mother Bhadrakali, the family deity of the brave queen Durgavati, is still present in Madhiya. Mulayam Chand Jain of Singrampur, a social worker and having knowledge of the ancient places of the area, tells that Queen Durgavati used to go to the Madhiya of her Kuldevi mother Bhadrakali from the elephant door of the fort, sitting on her white elephant Sarvan. Which used to reach Madhiya during the special festival of Navratri via the stairs built under the fort wall. Below is the never emptying Mahadev Bharka drain water pond.
Queen Durgavati used to fill water from the stone stairs adjacent to Madhiya and offer it to Goddess Bhadrakali. Queen Durgavati, born on Durga Ashtami, had powers due to the special grace of Mother Bhadrakali. All the statues are safe because they were first in the sanctuary area and now in the Rani Durgavati Tiger Reserve. Madhiya has two Shivalingas. One divine Shivlinga is seated in the Jalhari, the Jalhari of the other Shivlinga has been broken, but the Shivlinga is completely safe among the stones. There is also a Hanumanji statue there.
