Madhya Pradesh Forest Department has registered a case of forest crime against Tourism Development Corporation in the case of illegal construction in Sanjay Tiger Reserve. Instructions have also been given to demolish construction without permission in the corridor of the Tiger Reserve. However, no action has been taken against the Secretary of the Tourism Department and the Direct Collector in this matter, on which wildlife expert Ajay Dubey has raised questions.
The Son Gharial Sanctuary in Rampur Naikin, in the Sanjay Tiger Reserve in Sidhi district, was constructed without permission by the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation. The construction was located in the corridor of the Sanjay Tiger Reserve, where the Corporation constructed a large kitchen and hall adjacent to the Parasili resort, as well as a 16-room resort at Rewa Maharaj ki Kothi Kathabangla. About Rs 15 crore was spent on this construction without permission. This matter was presented in the meeting of the National Wildlife Standing Committee held under the chairmanship of Union Forest Minister Bhupendra Yadav on July 31. These illegal constructions were found in the meeting, after which instructions were given to seek answers from the Secretary of Tourism Development Corporation and the Direct Collector.
action after complaint
When no action was taken even after the meeting, wildlife expert Ajay Dubey complained about the matter. After this, the Forest Department registered a case against the Tourism Development Corporation for forest crime and ordered the demolition of the illegal construction within 10 days. Now the Tourism Development Corporation has sought time from the Forest Department to remove the construction.
officers are being saved
Wildlife expert Ajay Dubey says that he had also demanded action against the Secretary of the Tourism Department and the Direct Collector. He says that since no action has been taken against both the officers, he will complain again to the Chief Secretary.
